Once the old seal is out it is a simple matter to clean the parts up and press the new seal in. Step 9 - Install new parts in the reverse order that you removed the old parts. The drive shaft has splines on each end and "floats" between the engine and front differential. Once the drive shaft is out of the way I used a pick to pry the old seal out. The leak was at a faulty seal on the output shaft coming out of the front of the engine. When this happens it blocks off the oil flow to the engine. This engine is going to need a new piston, cylinder, crankshaft/connecting rod, and all the various gaskets. The red arrow points to the spot where the lip of the seal is distorted. Most manuals have troubleshooting procedures that help isolate problems. I have seen engines damaged this way several times. These engines are air and oil cooled, if they get over heated the oil gets cooked . Both brands are a sensible choice, made in Thailand with repair parts in stock at Ruangsangthai. It can be done by trading in, changing or modifying your usual Honda Civic parts and accessories with new components using your own personal taste. Honda did a poor job designing this system and some owners do not pay enough attention when working on their machines. It will be a good idea to engage a professional well versed in the job for this purpose. Doing this will sever the connection that leads to the actual CKFM signal to the ECU and prevent conflicts with the ECU that may arise such as CEL 9 (CYP) and P1337 (CSF sensor no signal).
