Later in the day I passed through the "Flaming Gorge" areas (above) and had another BIG storm right next to me. All of this interest in "adventure" bikes begs the question, however: what exactly is "adventure touring?" Is a ride an "adventure" if you are only on a day trip, or must you at least be gone overnight? Good visibility inside out all the seats; although the coupe rear seat can be best reserved for children or four-legged friends. True to their word though, the day ended before darkness this time and we had a good ride as well.
For us, the bikes in the group, the riding changed dramatically as well. Myanmar riding at night is quite different to riding at night in Europe or the US for instance. The DG couldn't find even a single instance where such an approval would have been given. We requested a meeting with the organiser that evening, who didn't show up, and thus in the morning we refused to continue unless we were given guarantees this would not happen again. At the end of the day we arrived first at the meeting point and enjoyed every minute of our visit as Myanmar is a great country! As the Myanmar trip was with a group and planned from day to day, we didn't want to keep the rest waiting while we were looking for chain in the middle of nowhere. Working on the average we had done on the day just passed, I worked out we would be arriving at 7 in the evening and quite possibly be riding two hours in darkness again. I dont know, some scientist needs to figure that out or something.

As we were considerably faster than the cars we now had the time to take photos, could stop where we wanted for lunch, organised our own fuel stops and had a great time.
